I find that using a tanning mousse is the easiest and most fool proof way to self tan. I like to use a mousse that is tinted, so you can see where you have applied, and if you have missed any areas. My current favorite is this mousse by Loving Tan. I use the color Ultra Dark in the Summer, only when I have a good base tan. Otherwise, I am happy with using Medium or Dark. If you are in a hurry, and need a tan that can be washed off quickly, this 2 Hour Express is great!
I always apply my sunless tanner with a tanning mitt. It is a great way to product your hands, and it gives the smoothest application. My favorite is this one from Vita Liberata. It is not only a great price, but super soft.
The South Seas Body Bronzer is a great product for a quick, airbrushed bronze look. I first saw this product in a magazine years ago. The cast of Dancing With The Stars use this, and the other South Seas tanning products. If you’ve ever watched the show, you know they are all Bronze Babes! I figured I had to try it. I like to use this if I am wearing a strapless dress and I want my arms and chest to have a bronze glow. If you notice that your tan is a bit blotchy or un even, this helps with making your legs look tan and flawless! This product is removed with water, so be careful! It is not a product you want to rely on if you will be getting in the pool.
If you are looking for a quick and inexpensive drugstore tanning option, the L’Oreal Sublime Bronze is decent. It is a spray that is very easy to use! The color is conservative, so it won’t make you orange or super dark. It is buildable, so it is good for someone looking for subtle color.
Last but not least, is the Jergens Natural Glow Lotion. This is a great lightweight and inexpensive option. I use this whether I am self tanning or not. It is perfect to use if you want very subtle color all year round. When you have sunless tanner on, it is SO important to moisturize. Lotion helps your tan last longer, and keeps it looking fresh and even. My skin is on the more olive side, so I appreciate that they offer two different shades to choose from.
I hope this post help shed some light on a few of my favorites. I would love to hear about your tried and true products! Let me know in the comments below!
XOXO,
Lyndsey
